Gone are the days of the Queen B of Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf, for Leighton Meester.
It indeed has been a few years since Gossip Girl ended, and Meester has
certainly moved on to a brighter path as an actress with various
Hollywood movies under her belt, and even added the title of Mrs. Brody
(by marrying her The Oranges co-star, Adam Brody. Yes, a fabulous
match-made in Josh Schwartz heaven!) to her already awesome self.
After
taking a break from the music industry, this year, Leighton has decided
to get back with a new and refreshed sound with the newly released “Heartstrings” EP.
With folk and acoustic sounds as the main genre of the whole album,
Leighton has certainly revamped her musical sound from her last attempt
as a musician with very pop and dance songs that she has done in the
past. This time, a heavy guitar sound that reminds us of ethereal female
singer-songwriters such as Tori Amos and Joni Mitchell could definitely be heard throughout. Combined with her sultry voice, this one is perfect to sweeten your Monday!
