The Greatest Gift by Philip Van Doren Stern
You’ve probably heard of one of the best Christmas films ever, It’s A Wonderful Life; well this 1943 short story is the basis that forms the story in the movie! The book tells a story about a bad Christmas time for George Pratt who is suicidal and tells a stranger that we wishes he’d never been born. His wish was then granted, and George Pratt ceases to exist. George didn’t die, and the mysterious stranger lets him visit the people who would have been his loved ones. You know what they say… be careful what you wish for!

Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris
If a well-known comedian made a Christmas book, you can be sure that it will be filled with some dark, twisted and funny Christmas stories. Well, this book is definitely just that. A collection of stories entwined in one hilarious book. Particular one that shines is “Santaland Diaries” which tells a story about the life of a Christmas Elf in a department store. Also a perfect Christmas gift for you or your friend with the darker sense of humor!
